Finally

Image
Finally moved in, my new adress is: 34 Hunting Lodge Road Storrs, CT 06268 Here is a few pictures of the house, I'll add more later, my room is a giant mess right now, so I'll wait until things are a little more orginized. Living room, it has another couch in it now, and a bigger coffee table. The skylites are really nice, there is a big bay window on the left too, so There is alot of natural light. The backyard, this is the view from the corner, there is more of it over the hill that you can't see. Sweet hi-ten power lines too..

Two Things

Out on the trail yesterday that I don't usually see: A great blue heron, and a group of mountain bikers. And now for something completely non related and sort of boring.

Gainful employment

Well I just found out I got a real job! I will be an adjunct instructor this fall for one physics class at fvcc and a full time instructor next spring. After next spring hopefully I will have a good chance at a permanant position. I am pretty exited that I got a physics job in kalispell. Kendra starts her permanant job with the forest service on june 5th as well, so looks like we are going to be SET. I guess we will be leaving academia finally... tear.

We made about $2000 in profits last night for trail advocacy in the Gallitan Valley. We sold over 200 tickets and had a very successful show. I'll post some pictures from the show this evening when I get my camera back.

Movin' out, Movin' up

Checked out of Derby 304 today, nice to get out of that hole. I'm moving into a nice house next to campus. The only problem is we can't move in for another two weeks, so I'm currently "in between domiciles" as the homeless call it. Staying at Kara's and Pete's until we can move in to the new place. Should be nice, has a huge yard and borders a forest. I dropped some stuff of in the garage and snapped a few pictures of the outside. It's pretty nice I tell ya' No comment needed.. Porch Front yard Backyard, pretty big huh?

Arcadia Management Area, RI

Well, school is out, and it was a good weekend to play out side. So sunday was bike ride day. My friend Pete and I went on a nice long ride yesterday in RI. Good weather, and no crashes.. Aracadia has alot of interesting old stuff. Rock walls, abandoned roads, and cemetarys where the newest gravestones are over 100 years old.. Some of the more weathered ones are probably at least twice that. I didn't actually make it across this, grabbed the little tree to my left in the beginning. But you didn't know that right? Cool old roadhouse/shelter. There used to be an old rode going through the area, maybe this was a sort of rest stop. Pete very happy he just has two wet feet, and not one wet Pete.. Damn that was funny.

Bouldering in Lincoln Woods, RI

Image
So the day started out like any other trip into the woods in New England.... We got lost. After that, we found some nice rocks and I immediately ripped a hole in the palm of my hand... A quick trip to the car for some first aid and I was as good as new. Back to the rocks for some nice bouldering. There were a bunch of problems, and it was fun.. Neither of us lasted very long though, havn't climbed in almost a year. Pretty sweet graffiti on the rocks too. One of the problems we looked out had broken bottles on the ground below it.. Decided it wasn't such a good idea considering out current luck. Apparently, this is the Dam Wall . Ended with Spikes Junkyard Dogs .. This one had chedder and bacon. (chedder is white around here)

I wonder if this will work..

Me on one of the trails outside of UConn..
