Well, we got third place out of the six teams in the coorporate class. Pretty good for a bunch of first time racers. Were all on the right side of the yellow jerseys. More pics to come when I have a little more energy. Slept about 4 hours total last night with laps in between.
Off to the race, check out the results at 24hoursofadrenalin.com race is at Holiday Farm, and our team name is "the not quite sealed bearings"

New bike, just in time for the big race, a Fisher Cake 1, the same as my old bike, only newer with a better fork and more carbon fiber. More pics to come after the race..

Night Ride!

Took my first real night ride tonight. Pretty sweet, it was. There were "lightning bugs" out in the beginning of the ride, flashing all over the place. Then I almost slid down a slope into the river, but managed to avoid it. Why did I pick the narrow trail next to the water anyway? Anyway, I put up some pics of the ride. So look at them

Sure, the cool stuff happens after I leave

Check out the SSEL rocket engine, something like 84 lbs of thrust. Pretty cool if you ask me. Click on the picture for a video. (pretty small file)
I guess I was waiting for other peoples pictures before I put these up, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Here's some pictures of Molly's and Liz's parties. (On right)

Yeah, big mountains, how 'bout them apples John? This is in "the snip" outside of Tolland, CT. I think this is called Mt. Soapstone, it has a cool lookout tower to get above all the pesky trees that are always in the way here.

RIP Dale.. we have rednecks here too

This is me on the way up to Lac Vert flipping the bird to my boss behind the lens. things are going well here so far, chamonix is really cool place to live.

looks like crap, but while it was 89 and humid outside I was almost cold. Gonna get a piece of plexiglass when I get back from a weekend with the grand 'rents in NJ..

Bat!

Image
So this was really weird. I had my window open and I was in bed reading when I heard a strange rustle like the wind on the blinds. And I looked up and this bat was doing laps around my room. I tried to catch it with a hat for a little while, but it wasn't happening. so I waited and it eventually stopped and "perched" in my closet. I put some gloves on and grabbed the little guy. For being the size of a mouse he had some serious teeth. I could see why people are afraid of them. So he freaked out a bit making these weird squeaking like noises and then he settled down and hung on my hand like you can see on the last picture. He hung there for a few seconds with my hand ouside the window before he came to his senses, crawled to the top of my hand and flew off. So I guess that is why you don't take the screen off of your window..

Didn't quite figure out it was free yet...

Ouch

Well, I bit the bullet again and bought some plane tickets home. Damn, flying into that stupid little airport cost's a fortune these days. So since it was so expensive, i decided to come for two weeks instead of the one I first thought I would do. Hopefully thats ok with the boss man. After careful consideration I decided I didn't care and I was going whether or not it was completely ok and if I was going I was going for as long as I wanted. So I'll be in MT from August 6th ll:00 pm to August 22, noonish, the Monday after the weddin'.
