I lost my ski poles

Image
What can I say? We didn't find my poles but we did find between 24" and 48" of powder that had fallen since the previous evening. Me (strangely enough) Marshall (like usual)

My genetic equal, well sort of....

King and Queen of the Ridge Results Forget the Olympics! That bunch of pampered pansies doesn't even compare to the hardy soles who participated in yesterday's King and Queen of the Ridge competition. Morning temperatures below zero could not dampen the enthusiasm of these folks who showed up to see who could climb up and ski down the Ridge the most times. This years King is John Parker who completed 26 laps. The Queen of the Ridge is Maria Lundgren with 16 laps. In addition to testing their fortitude, these folks collected money through pledges to support the Hans Saari Memorial Fund which promotes avalanche education in our area. As he has every year since this event started, Gerry Carish (age 65) showed up to hike. His 11 laps raised over $4000 for the fund making him the true King of this event. Special thanks go to the Women of the Bridger Bowl Ski Patrol. This group of ladies cranked out a combined total of 41 laps! Way to go girls! Thanks to everyone who raise...

Biking in February

A surreal picture of a candle.. Havn't added much here for a while, so I thought I'd post a picture. Life in CT has been good, school and work is as stessful as always, but I'm managing. Spent the weekend in RI with Kara, watching the olympics as the snowstorm blows through.. Took this picture during a commercial..

Went on a night ride last night in the forest behind UConn with Eric (on my team this summer at the 24 hr race). It was alot of fun despite the semi-freezing weather, the wet muddy foot, broken chain, and running out of light as I repaired the chain.. Good thing it broke after emerging from the woods, and I had a spare light.. Hooray for being prepared.. This picture shows a side profile, the blue is Eric's shirt illuminated by my light..

Put up some new pictures from past weekend in RI.. I went riding at a place called Arcadia Management Area.. It's really nice, and really big, considering how small Rhode Island is. Southern RI is quite rural, with lots of beef cattle in big fields and old farmhouses and such.. Enjoy. Left, is one of the wider parts of the trail, and right is the track I took. Last Weekend is in red, and a few weeks ago is in pink. I've barely scratched the surface though, it's much larger than what you see on the map here. Funny, all the riding in MT goes into the woods and back out.. You can go in as far as you want before you turn around and come out.. Here, you can go through the woods and come out the other side.. Alright enough stupidity.. to the pictures.
