Cool pictures

These are both from the same piece of fiberglass/epoxy composite. I've been working on a system that can track the positions of various points on the surface by recognizing patterns on the black and white speckle painted surface.

























This confusing 3-D plot shows displacement in teh vertical direction as the 3rd (Z) axis in the graph. You can see the notch on the right side as zero displacements, and the crack as the big jump in displacements.

Working on using it to get displacements in inches at the top and bottom of the sample to use for FEA boundary displacements
