Snow?

Thats right, I went snowboarding for the first time this year. It was a great day with lots of sun and temps just low enough to keep the snow snowy and not slushy. I went to a place called Monarch Mountain, a modestly sized ski resort with some excellent terrain. There was even a place to hike up a bit and ski down some extra cool terrain. Hiking is hard at 11,000 feet.

Looking down over part of the area. The mountains in the background are part of the presendential range, but not the parts that's full of 14k footers.. I think the big one is 12k..

Me getting left in the dust err... powder by Jason (tall) and Dave (not tall). Dave ran a marathon to the top of Pikes peak and back for fun, and Jason is 6'7" so I don't feel too bad about it. They aren't as far away as they look either.. Yup, feel better already......

Dave freeing his heel.

It was fun, but I missed a 72 degree day in Colorado Springs on Saturday. Luckily it turned to 28 and blasting snow sideways on Sunday. Same thing really. We wentthe museum where I got to see a few Monet's, Picasso's, and even a Pollack (which was pretty cool, I like his stuff). Not to mention many other cool and sometimes (in my opinion) not so cool paintings. Then to Jack Quinn's for a Guinness and some irish nachos (potato chips, potatos, corned beef, swiss, chedder, green onions) while listening to the beginning of the irish music session they play there on sundays. Ok, now for bed, it's getting to be past my bedtime these days...

I want some irish nachos. The dark blue sky is cool at 11,000 feet.
